Now this is an interesting one. Personally, I’m a bit of a fan of going to the flicks and watching a movie in ‘full 3D’ with the stereoscopic glasses. It still blows me away to this day. Though it has to be subtly and cleverly done (Avatar) not the obvious, ‘oh no, mind that axe flying toward the screen!’ (Last Action Hero) or the cheesy horror films where the blade is up in your grill. Though I have come across a few people who really can’t stand it to a point where they get headaches and nausea after just a few minutes in the theatre.
Well, I’ve just come across a product that might be for them. It’s a pair of 2D glasses that you can take to the cinema, which then converts the movie back into 2D! Seems like waste of money if you ask me – why not just go and see the non-3D version? Well, when inventor Hank Green wanted to watch Tron 3 at the movies with his wife, she admitted that she gets bad headaches from the glasses, and would rather watch the 2D screening. Hank did what any normal 3D enthusiast would do and instead of yielding to his wife’s request he want home, invented his 2D glasses and made it possible for he and his wife to hold hands at the movies.
Pretty amazing really. Check them out here: 2D Glasses
