A short while ago, Bangerter Homes in Utah decided to faithfully recreate the house from Pixar’s ‘Up’ in a bid to attract more visitors to the small town of Herriman. Shortly after buying the house, Lynette and Clint Hamblin were told they would have to repaint the exterior of the house from the film accurate multi-coloured façade to something more appropriate within the regulations of the homeowners association rules on exterior appearance. Downer or what?
Thankfully, after a request to change the rules in the HOA regulations – their variance to the rules was granted and the house is safe in all its garish glory. Considering the hoops and legalities Bangerter Homes would of jumped through just to get permission to build the property in the first place, it would have been a real shame just to see it painted to look like everywhere else.
