I’m totally having a nerd attack right now! Microsoft’s E3 briefing yesterday had just a small surprise for fans of Minecraft, or just gaming in general, with the announcement that Microsoft Hololens will support Minecraft….anywhere you want to play! A live demo of a player interacting with a version of his world running in real time on a small table was bravely demoed during the briefing, that has to be seen to be believed. In addition to seeing this literally on a table you can walk around:
- You can play Minecraft right on your wall, and then transfer it to another surface.
- You can manipulate the world using your voice and your hands. And of course, you can walk around and change your viewpoint whenever you’d like.
- You can zoom in, out, and around using your voice.
- You can raise the world and see things that are normally not visible.
- Whatever you look at? The game is aware of it. During the demo, the presenter looks at a TNT pack and tells the game to strike it with lightning.
